At Freedom Ballooning, we understand that cancellations can be stressful and detract from your experience. We share your disappointment because we wish to take to the skies every moment possible. However, your safety is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that every flight is conducted under the safest conditions. While we value every opportunity to soar above the landscape, we recognize that sometimes, circumstances beyond our control necessitate rescheduling. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we prioritize your well-being. Together, we look forward to creating unforgettable memories in the sky when conditions are just right!
Cancellations can happen the night before, the morning of, 2 hours before flight, and even when we meet at the launch field. We will be calling you through the day to advise you of the situation that could exist and how you would like to proceed.
The Following Surcumstances May Cancel a Flight:
Booking Policy
At our company, we maintain a straightforward booking policy to ensure a smooth experience for our customers. A deposit of $50 is required per person who wishes to ride, which allows us to secure your spot. We take our reservations by phone. We do not offer online booking. This allows us to not charge you for booking fees. To add you to our reservation list, we will also need your name and phone number. While flights can be booked for your preferred day, please be aware that they may be subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. Additionally, it's crucial that we gather the weight of each passenger to guarantee that we operate within our safety weight ratings. This policy helps us prioritize safety and provide an enjoyable flying experience for everyone.
Surface wind more than 7-10 mph
Winds aloft in excess of 35 mph (those are winds at 3000, and 6000 Ft)
Rain within 40-50 miles from location
Moisture, wind, cooling air, and other conditions that may exist to create a spotty thunderstorm during flight
Too much rain from days prior making the ground saturated (this makes it very difficult to retrieve the balloon from landing)
Aircraft issues if they present
Passenger weights that were given were not correct
Passenger physical limitations were not advised during booking
Change in wind direction at launch field (we need spots to land)
What Happens Now Flight Got Cancelled?
In the event that your flight is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or aircraft-related issues, we offer two options to accommodate your needs. You can choose to have your $50 deposit held and applied towards rescheduling your flight for the next available day. If rescheduling does not suit your plans, we are happy to provide a full refund of your $50 deposit without any questions asked. Our aim is to ensure that you have a smooth and hassle-free experience, whether that means securing a new travel date or simply receiving your funds back. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding in these unforeseen circumstances.
Passenger Related Cancellations:
If your flight is canceled due to a passenger-related event, such as providing incorrect weight information, unspecified mobility or health issues, or failing to show up, you will forfeit your $50 fee. Unfortunately, no refunds will be offered in these circumstances. It is crucial to ensure that all information related to your travel is accurate and to communicate any specific needs or concerns prior to the flight. By doing so, you can help prevent complications that may arise and ensure a smoother travel experience. Should you encounter any issues that may affect your ability to fly, it’s advisable to address them with the pilot as soon as possible to avoid any potential cancellations and related penalties.
Can I Cancel My Flight?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your flight, you can do so as long as it is more than 72 hours before your scheduled departure. We understand that unexpected events can disrupt your plans, and we aim to accommodate your needs. However, please be aware that cancellations or changes made within 72 hours of the flight will not qualify for a refund of your $50. We encourage you to reach out as soon as possible if you foresee a change in your travel plans, and our team will assist you in making the necessary arrangements. Your convenience is important to us, and we are committed to providing the best support for your travel needs.
